Something very special in my opinion about a good cover song especially when its done by famous people or bands. Here are a couple we found. Let us know what you think...
We wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to some of our favorite rocking dads. We found a cool article featuring 15 Awesome Rock Dads that we wanted to share with you along with a few of our favorites from the list. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/awesome-rock-dads/
Tommy Lee- Motley Crue's awesome drummer. We love love love Tommy!
Ozzy Osbourne- How cool would it be to have Ozzy as your dad? We think pretty darned cool!!
Sammy Hagar- The red rocker is also one of those awesome rock dads that we truly love
Rock Ballads, those power love songs that make you break out your perfect air guitar and imagine you are in the arena with your lighter held up high, swaying to the music and singing the words with 20,000 other people. They are the songs that make us stop and crank up the radio when we are searching for a station that's not playing the same song over and over. They take you back to your first love, first kiss or first heartbreak. What are your favorites? Here are a few of ours to get your creative juices flowing.
Journey - Open Arms
From Journeys 1981 album Escape, and the bands highest charting single. Surely everyone of us lucky enough to have grown up in or have parents who did, know the words to this song. Our proms, school dances, and wedding receptions were filled with couples swaying to this song. Come on and sing along ...
Bon Jovi - I'll be there for you
From the bands 4th album New Jersey. Imagine Jon Bon Jovi in a leather over coat with sunglasses and a bandanna, and Joe playing a double neck guitar. Girls screaming, lighters flaring, and you with your best air guitar. Yes Chloe this is a power ballad.
Staind- Its been a while
From the bands 3rd album Break The Cycle in 2001. Its Staind and Aaron Lewis... Do we need to say more? Aaron's voice defines the emotion and the sound defines the soul of this song. This is modern day realism.
What are your favorites? We want to know!! Until next time.........
Yep, when we think of 90's grunge rock we think of Seattle. It's amazing how many bands have come out of Seattle or were influenced by the sound created there. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Foo Fighters are just a few of the bands whose sound influenced non Seattle area bands like Bush, Candlebox, Stone Temple Pilots and many others. Here are a few of our favorites:
Nirvana- Lithium
Alice in Chains- Man in the box
Pearl Jam - Even Flow
That's a few of our favorites. There really are too many to list here. Please leave us a comment and let us know some of your grunge sounding favorites.
